Stir Fried Tau Miu (Sweet pea sprout)

Tau Miu is also known as sweet pea sprout. It is a kind of crunchy leaf vegetable which is quite sweet. It requires very little cooking time and it’s usually just stir fried with some garlic and seasoned to taste. In conclusion, this is a refreshing dish with natural sweetness in it. Topping with crispy fried garlic makes the dish so appetizing especially when it’s just fried hot from the wok.

Tau Miu is also known as sweet pea sprout. It is a kind of crunchy leaf vegetable which is quite sweet. It requires very little cooking time and it’s usually just stir fried with some garlic and seasoned to taste. In conclusion, this is a refreshing dish with natural sweetness in it. Topping with crispy fried garlic makes the dish so appetizing especially when it’s just fried hot from the wok.

Ingredients
 

  • 300 g Tau Miu, or sweet pea sprouts
  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 2 tablespoon oil
  • Salt, to taste

    Instructions
     

    • Rinse and dry the Tau Miu.
    • Heat oil in wok.
    • Sauté the chopped garlic till golden and dish out. Drain the fried garlic and leave aside.
    • With the garlic oil in wok, add the Tau Miu and stir fry lightly until the garlic oil is infused into the vegetable.
    • Season with salt to taste.
    • Dish out and garnish with the fried chopped garlic.
    • Serve immediately with steamed rice.

To fry Tau Miu (sweet pea sprout):
 
First rinse and drain the tau miu ( sweet pea sprout )

 
 
Heat up oil in wok. Sauté chopped garlic until fragrant and golden brown in colour.
 
 
Drain the fried golden garlic crisps and set aside.
 
 
With the garlic oil in wok, add the drained and rinsed tau miu.
 
 
Stir fry lightly the tau miu to make sure the garlic oil is infused into the vegetable.
 
 
Dish out immediately when cooked and garnish the top with the fried garlic crisps. Serve immediately.
